JOMBANG,https,//FaktaNews24com. – Jombang Regent, Abah Warsubi took a noble step, by donating his monthly salary for community empowerment through the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Jombang Regency.
This decision was taken as a form of commitment to improving community welfare and supporting Baznas programs.
Previously, on (11/3) the Management of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Jombang Regency paid a friendly visit to the Jombang Regent, H. Warsubi to introduce themselves and submit a performance report for 2024, as well as a work program plan for 2025.
The Head of Baznas Jombang, Ahmad Zainuri said that the target for collecting zakat was 7 billion rupiah for 2025 and asked for support from the Jombang Regency Government, especially in optimizing collection from ASN.
Warsubi welcomed the visit and expressed his readiness to support Baznas Jombang, in increasing the collection and distribution of zakat.
The Regent of Jombang also plans to donate his entire salary as Regent to Baznas Jombang
“We realize that Baznas has an important role in helping people in need. Therefore, we want to contribute directly by channeling our salaries through Baznas,” explained Warsubi.
Abah Warsubi said that Baznas came to him because Baznas’ income was still lacking and yesterday he begged him.
“What we know is our salary, how much we give it all. I also don’t know how much the salary is because I just took office, I asked the general section to check,” he added in a separate interview.
It is known, from the Head of BPKAD Jombang M. Nashrulloh, that the total salary received by regional heads and deputy regional heads each month is not the same. For the Regent of Jombang, the nominal salary is IDR 6,210,500 per month. This amount will be channeled routinely to Baznas every month.
“He hopes that this donation can help Baznas in running its programs optimally and provide significant benefits to the community,” he said.
In addition to donating 100% of his salary, Abah Regent Warsubi stated that he is ready to support Baznas by helping to collect Baznas funds among ASN.
“We will try to increase the collection of Baznas Jombang, especially among ASN of Jombang Regency Government. Baznas Jombang collection must increase every year, but this needs to be discussed internally by the Regency Government,” said Abah Regent of Jombang.
This step was appreciated by the Head of Baznas Jombang and expressed his gratitude for the support of the Regent of Jombang.
“We are very grateful for Abah Regent’s concern. We will distribute this donation to people in need through programs that we have designed,” he said.
For information, the Jombang Regency Government has supported Baznas’ efforts in fundraising. The Jombang Regency Government’s contribution to Baznas is in the form of providing annual grants and collecting zakat and infaq from ASN.
Baznas has collaborated with the Jombang Regency Government in various fields, including the following:
• Health sector
Baznas collaborates with the Health Service (Dinkes) and RSUD in providing nutritional assistance to toddlers and children who are malnourished.
• Education sector
Baznas collaborates with the Jombang Education and Culture Service (Dikbud) and schools in providing S1 scholarships, as well as financing learning facilities.
•Economic sector
Baznas contributes by providing capital assistance and mentoring for MSMEs.
• Humanitarian sector
Baznas provides business assistance for victims of domestic violence, natural disasters, and living expenses for elderly people.
