The Jombang Regency Government held a Public Consultation activity related to the strategic road widening project in Pesantren Village, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency. This event is part of an effort to improve road infrastructure in the Road Widening Construction Package Towards Standards on the Ploso – Bts. Jombang City Road Section (Link.084) Region II Jombang.
This activity was held at the local village hall, which was also attended by representatives from the East Java Transportation Agency, the implementing contractor PT Tambang Dhan Maju, village officials, community leaders, and local residents affected by the project.
According to the committee, this public consultation aims to socialize the project plan to the community, as well as absorb aspirations, suggestions, and concerns of residents regarding the impact of road construction on the environment, access, and their land.
The widening of the Ploso – Jombang City Border road is one of the priority projects to support smooth traffic flow and improve connectivity between regions in Jombang Regency. It is hoped that after the project is completed, community mobility and distribution of goods will be more efficient, as well as reduce the risk of traffic congestion and accidents.
“This is not just a road widening project, but also a concrete step towards developing more appropriate and sustainable infrastructure. We want the community to know, be involved, and support, because this is for the common good,” said a representative from the project implementer.
The community seemed enthusiastic about following the consultation process, several residents also asked questions related to land acquisition, the impact on local businesses, and safety guarantees during the construction period.
This activity marked the start of the initial stages of the project which is targeted to be completed in 2025.
